Essay

As I read the letter, I cried… Who knew it would still hurt? A year had passed and yet.. Yet the memories still burns clearly in my head as though it happened just yesterday. Never did I know my feelings for him were this solid.

Oh! How I loved him.

It all started early last year on my way back from school. I was 15 then, still in my early years and yet to mature. As I was strolling down the pavement under the blazing sun, my eyes chanced upon this one unique shop. A lone figure stood behind the display window.

I stopped in my tracks. Did he just wink at me?

Somehow his action made my heart skip a beat. My face flushed a deep red which made me frown. What on earth is happening to me?

Feeling very quizzical with my reaction, I decided to meet this figure in person. Pushing the door open, I was greeted with a jolt of never ending delight as I came face to face with him. My eyes grew wide and I was practically going gaga over him.

I stood like that for a full 15 seconds before the shop owner came up to me. “I see you have taken a fancy on Ash here,” he grinned.

Obviously startled and annoyed by his remark, I dashed out of the shop embarrassed, thanking the lord that the owner didn’t notice the distinct trail of drool beside my mouth. Thoughts of Ash’s handsome face of startling green eyes and brown hair were set inside this small brain of mine.

Yes, that was how I met him. How I met sweet, lovable Ash. Ever since then, it became my daily routine to visit him everyday in that shop. Talking to him gave me great joy as he was a good listener and friend. But of course, I wanted to be more than just friends… It took me a whole lot of courage to ask him out.

After 3 months of our ‘unforgettable’ encounter, I tried asking the owner to give Ash a day off. Every attempt was futile. It wasn’t until I bribed him with the latest Megan Fox posters did he budge. Lucky thing he's a devoted fan of the actress eh?

It wasn’t much of a date though, more like a stroll in the park. I enjoyed watching him play with the local pets while I chat with the pet owners. However, it was the best experience I’ve ever had in my romance life. Every second with him was pure bliss and I wished it would never end.

Too bad it did.

A few months after the event, Ash started to behave strangely. He became distant and withdrawn from me as though I’m an evil plague. I tried getting answers from him but to no avail. He even spat out the sandwich I made for him. How rude can he get?!

Furious and hurt, I tried consulting my best friends in hopes for explanations. Instead of words of comfort, I received many accusations such as “It is his kind’s nature to do such a thing!” and “He’s just the type to toss you away for someone new” directed to him. It infuriated me to have my friends insult him despite his actions towards me. Some friends they are...

Clueless on what to do, I turned into one of self pity, cowering in my own room as if it shields me from the pain I had to endure. I even resorted to food for comfort – ice cream to be exact. The sweet substance managed to cure me to some extend.

It all came to an end when my mum dragged me away from my room to give me a 30 minute lecture. I winced from the harsh words I heard. She’s right, I thought. Wallowing in self pity doesn’t help a bit, especially health-wise.

Eating ice cream exacts a heavy toll on my body and I don’t think I can take another tongue lashing on pricey ice-cream from my mum. You see, I chose to wolf down on my mum’s favourite brand of ice-cream; Haagen Dazs, which is not exactly the best choice to pick, no?

So then started my efforts to turn over a new leaf. Keeping up with my studies, losing the extra weight I gained and just living out my life helped take my mind off recent events. This lasted for 2 months and I was happy again.

Life felt wonderful. Life was great. That was, until I received a voicemail from the shop owner. He requested that I meet up with Ash and reconcile.

Hah! As if that will ever happen.

It was very annoying though, to have a constant stream of voicemails ranging up to 10-20 per day. At last I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to return his call. All he said was,

“I think you should come by to the shop. You’ll understand why.”

His answer disturbed me a great deal for yes, I do want to know why Ash had acted the way he did. On the other hand, I was scared to know the truth. Not to mention I doubt I can hold back from slapping the shop owner from his continuous stream of voicemails as his efforts had literally fried my expensive cellphone.

In the end I decided to drop them a quick visit. Stopping in front of the shop, I was startled to see the shop decorated with black draping. The atmosphere around it seemed grim and silent.

Shaken to see the once lively shop in such a state, I pushed back the door and walked in. The lights were dim and candles were everywhere in the shop. Everything seemed to be like normal except for the table placed in the middle. On it was a small casket, only big enough to fit a baby.

My mouth went dry. My heart started to pound at a brisk pace as the room started to narrow down onto the casket. Taking a step towards the table, I silently said under my breath, “No, this can’t be. No….”

I emitted a wail of despair at what I saw lying in the coffin. There lay Ash with a serene look on his face. Tufts of his hair were gone, leaving bald patches among his once magnificent brown body. Somewhere in the corner emerged the shop owner, his face stripped off his usual cheeky aura.

“It was cancer. The doctors couldn’t help him as it was too late. He was in the final stage of cancer before they found out his sickness.”

I stayed still. Seeing that I wasn’t about to say anything, he bowed his head and whispered.

“I am sorry.”

Then the tears came.

Soon after this was his funeral. It was held in his favourite spot; the park where we first went out to. Not many attended as he had very few relatives and friends. But it was as any funerals are meant to be - dark, depressing, filled with dreaded emotions.

And now here I am, remembering the painful past. It wasn’t easy writing this letter explaining to my friend about Ash but… I know I have to move on. Dwelling on past events won’t make me feel better unless I acknowledge it.

Sighing, I looked up to the starlit sky, absorbing the peace of the night. Smiling a weak smile, I chanted under my breath.

“Ash… You’ll always be my favourite cat.”

Soso, what do you guys think?? Its a remake of my original copy, and a better one at that. Give me your truthful comments kay? :D

Mulan

Was just watching it on Disney Channel today when I saw an advert on Mulan, but this time the non-cartoon version.

Looks quite cool, no? Maybe I should watch it... Watching Mulan ( cartoon ) gave me extreme nostalgia. Kinda missing my childhood days..

Anyone wanna join me? =D

Job

Almost everyone has one; Wai Yan, Bob, Sze Li, Zi Ming, Khai Li... And me? Ptffff....

Yesterday I saw a notice on a boutique shop saying "Full time/Part time needed" that almost made my heart stop. A job opportunity!! But I didn't jot the number down, cuz I know my parents wouldn't allow it as there'll be transport problem.. Sigh.

In other words, I'm quite depressed that I can't work this year. I've less than 20 days to work and I doubt anyone will hire me, so...

Ugh.

My dad asked,

"You still plan on working?"

"....No.. Less than 20 days, how to work?"

He kept quiet.

Sigh.

Serious Stuff

Ok, get this.. I've a few funny realisations today that I find weird 'cause it never occured to me before until now.

First would be Full Body Shutdown ( FBS.. not FBI k ). Yesterday when I came back from the paintball event, my legs ache from standing ( actually its from the previous day exercise but nvm.. ) tho my body wasn't tired. I then decided to read Eldest on my bed and when I did... Poof. I KO-ed without realising I did. I woke up dazed why the clock showed 1am.. Heeeeheheheehe..

This also happened after I came back from Maju Camp. Turns out that though I don't feel tired, I tend to sleep a lot after an activity cuz I lost my daily afternoon sleep. Not exactly a healthy routine but I'm not going to change it cuz I MALAS! xD

Second was during dinner tonight. As usual I was pondering over things; finally ate fish, how much to spend on Wednesday, flossing, etc when I suddenly thought about college. College! I don't know any public transport that goes there so I guess I'll need to drive there. Ohhh crap... That means I'll need a driving license before I start my first semester.. Not that I don't want to drive, just takut to drive. Pro daydreamers make bad drivers, no?

Weird realisations.

Anywaaaay, on to more 'enlightening' matters..

My bro called yesterday ( when I was sleeping.. shouldn't have slept!!! =.= ). He mentioned attending a concert in Germany. Great, I'm happy for him until I heard during dinner tonight that it cost about RM2.6k ( i'm not too sure about the price.. i think i heard wrong ) for the flight.. So I was thinking, since my parents said he's only planning to go and not confirm going, are they worried financially? My mum told me some disturbing news today so I thought...........

Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Oh well~ I need to start saving money again ( to Janice n Mada, pls don't think otherwise.. i've got better reasons now ) so need to handle my $$ wisely. In other words, I'll be stuck at home with practically nothing to do except online, read, sleep, eat and play. Its not too bad I guess... Maybe I should do some house chores for once. Lol.

Eh I need to be cautious cuz they might get paranoid again, like what happened last time..

Maddie : Mum, my period is already a week late. Is it normal?
Mum : .......................You didn't do anything, right?

Erm erm ermmmmmm

Dot..

Dot dot dot..

=.=!!

What kind of mum would ask their daughters this question?!?!?!

For your information, its NORMAL for it to be irregular kay? Don't get any ideas... Please la, I'm not that kind of girl x]

Bored in BJ

See that poser? That sad case poser? That poser is 10th Petaling's Troop Leader... Lol! I'm supposed to post this photo up onto our troop web but I thought otherwise..
I got this photo from Bob, because he was complaining to me that Ishaq ( the poser ) is soooo bored in Bukit Jalil till he's posing with multiple paintball gear to get Bob jealous ( seems to be working ). I find it hilarious cuz the gear kinda makes Ishaq look....chubby? xD
Wai Yan agrees with my comment while Szi Wei said he looks noob in the gear... Hahaha!
I'm bored yes, and I find this photo simply hilarious. Proves how desperate a guy can get with RM2 million worth of gear ( only in display ) with 20 guns that cost about RM6k each ( as calculated by the bored trio; Ishaq, John Hong and Yu Shaun ).
And Ishaq? You owe me RM10 for promoting your photo. Don't be a CHEAP ass :D

Walking 12km is nothing to me, but walking 12km in slippers is a stupid thing to do. Why?

1) The design print of my slippers came off due to harsh conditions.
2) I tried walking barefoot but ended up stubbing my foot with a pebble, now the skin is very red and sore…
3) Because we had to walk in the rain, you get less grip thus your skin will graze against the material until you kena blister..
4) I got sunburn and I didn’t notice it! Now my feet have a thin line where the slipper covers it and my thigh is a different colour from my leg.. -.-‘

Look at that! What kind of tan is this wei??

Its healing fast tho, thank goodness.. Funny thing is, the skin between my two toes is badly damaged and I never noticed it was so serious until just now.. Wish I didn’t le, cuz ignorance is bliss. Seriously.

Besides my feet, I now have 2 additional mosquito bites on my face.. Swt! The skin on my left thumb also came out cuz of using the axe and erm.. I’m tan again. Dammit~

At least this time I didn't burn my hair from maintaining the fire.. Hahaha!

Maju Camp

| 17 November 2009 | 0 comments |
This is my point of view as I went under senior and wasn’t everywhere at once in camp. Also, my memory fails me so I kind of jumbled up the agenda… Hehehe.
Oh, the pictures aren’t clear as it was taken with my 3.2 megapixel handphone camera. And beware! It’s very lengthy..

Day 1

Committee was supposed to arrive at about 6.30am, but only Szi Wei and Wendy were there. I went at about 6.50. Was checking their QM items when I noticed they forgot to get extra tent for girls, so we took 20 minutes to look for a good one. At 8.00, all items were shifted out of the den and Szi Wei’s dad came at 8.20am.

When the QM stuff were loaded into the 4-wheel vehicle, Jo-Lyne, Hui Ting, Geoffrey and Yeong Ken followed via car while me, Wendy, Szi Wei, Kah Pohh, Wai Guan and Choon Huang went via LRT and KTM. My group walked from school to Asia Jaya station.

Double check before going!

Walk walk..

Walking via SMK (L) Bukit Bintang route

LRT station. Why is Szi Wei laughing like that? Scary wei

We went to KL Central and from there changed to KTM to Kuala Kubu Bahru station. We had to change train halfway in Rawang as a different train goes to KKB. It was a 2 hour ride via LRT and KTM.

Teaching juniors knots.

Studying and learning

In the KTM from Rawang to KKB.. Szi Wei pro sleeper

In KKB station.. Look at the mist

Crossing over to the next side

Something happened, I dunno what.. Ticket problem?

Once there, we waited for Szi Wei’s dad to pick us up. Then as his dad drove us to the campsite, he stopped to tapau chicken rice for everyone ( luxury food wei =.= ). Nice right? Anyway, the road from the Orang Asli settlement to our campsite got quite bumpy ( very like sitting in a massaging chair put on full power ). Wai Guan was like, careful the chicken rice wei! I felt very zadao cuz he care more of the rice than his safety ( he was sitting upfront on Szi Wei’s lap and cuz of the bumpy ride, he kept hitting his head on the car’s roof ). Szi Wei lagi kesian, he was screaming about his underwear kena pulled down and Wai Guan sitting in a very painful angle on his lap… Lol!

As we arrived to the campsite, we were greeted with an unusual sight. Hui Ting was sitting on Yeong Ken’s shoulders to tie something onto a tree ( video at
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/video/video.php?v=214629283708&ref=mf). Apparently nobody was tall enough so when Szi Wei came out, they sighed in relief since the ‘giant’ has arrived. Hahaha. We all scrambled out of the car and help them build the kitchen. Luckily it was only drizzling lightly.

After that, the juniors went to take their tent-building test. They had to build a traditional tent in an hours’ time. Whilst they did, Wendy, Jo-Lyne, Geoffrey and I chopped bamboo to build the fence. We had to hammer the bamboos into the ground, as you can see in this video link.
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=214631598708&ref=mf

The juniors went off to wash the bamboos they’re going to use, then chop and tie their frame. Szi Wei somehow helped them ( he’s not supposed to tho ).

Look at the height difference.. xP

Since the juniors weren’t done yet, us free seniors went to look for firewood as the last occupants left a firepit filled with red ants so we plan to build a fire to scare them off. Szi Wei’s father busied himself with building his bed ( he stayed overnight ).

Looking for firewood
This is what I call slave labour.. Seniors need to work -.-'

We stacked our firewood, poured kerosene and lighted our fire. When we did, the juniors had finished their tent. However, the knots were loose so I told them to redo. After that the knot that held the frame from dropping was still loose so I told them to re-tie plus tie their groundsheet inwards so water wouldn’t flow. When I inspected again, the damn knot was still loose ( cuz it was tied wrongly..they didn’t use the right knot to tie ) and the groundsheet is still outside of their tent. Wendy and I gave them one more chance. The end result? Groundsheet is still somewhat outside the tent ( eventhough I explained to them how to do it ) and the knot still loose. The stupid thing is, the knot was tied wrong and the tension was bad. What’s more, the person who tied it tried doing takau system, but he tied the knot around RAFFIA, not the tree behind the tent.. No comment right?

We had our lunch at 2pm but us girl seniors were busy. Right after lunch was knots exam, so we ate our lunch as we tested them. Everyone passed. Next was a test on machete and knife knowledge. Everyone passed except Kah Pohh. The juniors then collected firewood for 2 hours..

Our first dinner ( which was at 6.20pm, cuz it was starting to rain and Szi Wei’s dad told us to have early dinner ) consisted of rice, fried chicken ( first day edi got chicken…wah liao ), kangkung and fried eggs. Bath time was after washing up the kitchen utensils. This was then followed by 3 tests; first aid, balutan anduh and scout signals. First aid was hilarious ( to me ) as I tested Kah Pohh, Hui Ting and Yeong Ken. Beside me, Wendy was testing Choon Huang and Wai Guan. She clearly was annoyed with Choon Huang cuz he didn’t study well.

Hui Ting couldn’t remember so she didn’t pass ( nvm HT, don’t be sad… ) and Yeong Ken did well. Kah Pohh on the other hand, gave me funny answers. Example :

Maddie: How do you treat someone with snake bite?
KahPohh: You suck out the blood.
Maddie: Okay, then how do you slow down the poison?
KahPohh: Err…. *took a long time to think* You suck out the blood la.
Maddie: Not enough la. What must you do before you suck the blood out? It will help prevent the venom from spreading fast.
KahPohh: Suck the blood with straw?

What the hell wei… What logic is that.

He gave me other funny answers, but I forgot. Okaaaay, nvm… Suan.. I damn zadao. Lol! I didn’t handle balutan anduh exam cuz had to do something ( I think jaga fire ) but I believe Wendy passed everyone. Next was scout signals which everyone passed also. Yay. Then it was report time and sleep. We had a short committee meeting where we listed down things needed as we were VERY short on items ( kerosene, matches, spade, sulphur, water ). Wendy called Alvin to buy the items needed.

Look at blur Wai Guan

Geoffrey is so lonely~~ Everyone abandoned him.. Awww.. I wonder why?

This was why! They abandoned him to curi-curi makan! Horrrr... I busted them xP Look at Szi Wei's expression

Juniors had to do night shift ( committee only had 2 people, so kesian right? ) so Wendy and I slept early. I slept from 1am to 4am ( woke up with hp alarm ). It was really nice waking up with a full view of the sky filled with stars. Gosh.. I’ll never forget the sight. I’ve never seen that many stars in a long loooong time.
Imagine the sky with stars.. This was taken early morning

When I visited Geoffrey and Choon Huang who were around the fire pit, the fire was about to die edi. I had to ignite it with the scarce firewood we have ( tambah lagi CH didn’t bring torchlight so had to lend to him while I work in the dark ) but thankfully the night passed on with a blazing fire. We heard a wild boar ( according to Szi Wei and Jo-Lyne it’s a wild boar ) from the other campsite ( there’s 2 campsites which is separated by the river..we were supposed to camp at the other site but luckily we didn’t ). Yay me and Geoffrey for keeping the fire up.

You can see Szi Wei's dad's car and his makeshift bed under the shelter

Our kitchen

Day 2
At 6.30am, the 2 committee KO-ed, but I had to wake both of them as I don’t know the agenda. They had a rough time finding their agenda paper so we woke the juniors up at 7 anyway ( luckily Jo-Lyne has the agenda in her phone ). The juniors were blur I think, cuz they loitered around the fire to warm up for 15 minutes until I asked if they’d washed up ( which they didn’t ) so we shoo-ed them off. They had morning exercise with Szi Wei after that. Not sure what was their morning exercise tho. Tent inspection was carried out by Szi Wei and Wendy. I terlupa that MC needs scout uniform so I didn’t bring.. Yes, very stupid of me.. Sorry… (T.T) Takpe, I helped Geoffrey with breakfast preparations. We had bread with strawberry jam and baked beans. The campsite was filled with flies so we had to jaga the food ( Food Guardians! xP ).

We used chopping knife and penknife to spread the jam.. Geng hor?

Boys tent

Amount of flies there are.. This is only a few of them

Scout rules and oath test then followed. Basic marching test was next and we gave them 30 minutes to train while we seniors looked for/chopped firewood. I was very disappointed with their marching as they weren’t alert and looked blur + dying. Marching is my favourite wei, I devote my time on marching. To see that their discipline is so low is annoying. I marah-ed them during their first try. During their 2nd try, only Yeong Ken passed. Well, at least someone passed… Szi Wei’s dad went backright after marching test ended. ater, Kah Pohh re-took his machete test while the others helped to collect firewood, chop firewood and sharpen our machetes. Some people.. *ahem Geoffrey* used the machete until hit the ground till sparks came out. Satyan,Wai Yan and Wendy please take note on this... xD

Parang on the floor!! Horrrr

Ask you to chop, you laugh pulak.. Jo-Lyne marah liao

Wendy devoted her time trying to call Alvin as he was supposed to buy the items but the stupid fella… 9.30 we called, he just woke up and haven’t bought the stuff. I called my dad and he told me only Shau Yuan brought the stuff to him while Alvin was supposed to bring the stuff at 10am. We tried calling Alvin again but he off his phone so we instead called Shau Yuan. Apparently Alvin called Shau Yuan to buy the items and that fella didn’t tell us that.. SWT!!! Everyone damn marah Alvin that time.

They then had STA ( Spare Time Activities ) so a few decided to do their own things while Kah Pohh and Wai Guan took their Malaysia and Selangor flag test. In the middle of the test, Wai Guan got sting by an insect. The sting mark was visible but I don’t think there was any sting. However, the area around it was itchy and painful for him so we applied some medicine. He didn’t look well after the incident, its like he lost his energy. Lunch time next! Kangkung, rice, sardine and fried eggs were served. After washing up, we were all in the campsite when suddenly…

KahPohh: Senior!! What happened to Wai Guan?
Seniors: Huh? What?! *panicked* Where’s he? He fainted? What what????
KahPohh: Nola, his head is outside the groundsheet. He sleep until like that, so weird.
Seniors: ……………………………… * Jo-Lyne checks on WG who was only sleeping and is fine*

This is zadao number 2.

This butterfly thought my cap had nectar.. It was literally sticking out its tongue thingy
At about 2 something both my parents came, so Szi Wei, Geoffrey and I went down to collect the stuff they brought while Wendy and Jo-Lyne tested the juniors on Section 1 of road rules and regulations. I’m surprised my dad volunteered to come but more suprising is my mum coming! Lol.. Anyway, they brought the items we needed and followed us as we trekked back to campsite. They only stayed for a few minutes before leaving as it was about to rain soon. I’m really glad they came ( only cuz I know they cared deeply for me and can bring the items, but not cuz they brought a bottle of F&N strawberry and 3 boxes of biscuits ). Everyone passed their road rules test.

10 minutes after my parents left, it started to rain so everyone got into their tents while seniors went inside the kitchen. As the rain got heavier…

Senior! Lao sui a!

First was the girl’s tent. Ok fine, we understand it needs fixing as a few QM items are in it. Then came shouts from the boy’s tent. We were like, okaaay. Not our problem also. Your tent engineering is poor and when your groundsheet is not tied and place properly of course will kena water la! Come on juniors, use your common sense and save your tent!

Us watching the juniors struggle.. I know we're evil x]

Look at that view and the mist after it rained.. Stunning!

When the rain stopped, it was time to cook dinner + bath but since the river is dangerous after it rains so the juniors didn’t get to bath. Instead, they took their scout hand signals test. A number of them passed. After that, Choon Huang took his firelighting test. Unfortunately he didn’t save the leaves from rain ( we covered our firewood with a flysheet to prevent it getting wet ) so he failed. Instead, Szi Wei got a fire started and we tried to maintain it as it started to rain again. Luckily it subsided but the junior’s tent still has water problems so Jo-Lyne decided to put an end to it – seniors helped fix it.

We spread the flysheet ( their roof ) wider for a bigger space and fixed their very wobbly frame. The groundsheet was wet and most complained until Szi Wei said they should try sleeping while sitting or find another alternate way ( which of course, they malas think of a better way and followed Szi Wei instead.. very ‘good’ right? Hahaha!...pui la~ good my ass, they just wait to be instructed, not use their common sense and DIY ).

Despite the wet groundsheets, we carried on with our exams; items in first aid kit. Nobody passed tho as they weren’t taught on it and didn’t study properly. You know what? Jo-Lyne tested them earlier.. She took up the menstrual pills and asked what is it. Nobody could answer and they even read the back of the pill cover. Then Yeong Ken said; “ I know! It’s only used for adults! “ Jo-Lyne laughed kao kao when she told us about it.. Hahahahaha. Anyway, sadly when I was about to teach them it started to rain again so we instead let them sleep earlier. I also told them to use their free time to study or do their reports but of course nobody did. It was only 9.40pm. We had to wait until 12am for juniors to do shift so seniors lepaked around the fire.

Look! Ghost! Nola, its just Jo-Lyne drying her towel

Day 3
Everyone got up at 6.30am. After washing up, they had morning exercise again ( just stretching ). Us seniors.. Hehehe.. We warmed up with exercise our arms; we chopped firewood! xD Anyway, the morning followed with the usual tent inspection and they had break with strawberry jam and fried eggs. They then had 30 minutes to study their Section 2 of road rules and later, 30 more minutes to study peta topo. They failed both tests tho.. Hmmm…

As Jo-Lyne says; This is how a 10th Petaling studies for Maju badge.. Kononnya studying, he fell asleep =.=
Taking exam.. Oi Wai Guan, pay attention!

I then asked Choon Huang to train them kawad tongkat, but that fella forgot most of it and even when he did remember, its wrong… I damn geram that time cuz he passed his test edi, and I was so tempted to fail him there and then. Suannn… Jo-Lyne rescued him by helping us teach the juniors. I helped out with lunch; bake beans mixed with sardine ( Szi Wei’s idea ), cabbage and rice. Szi Wei’s dad came with a friend around that time and he brought us water, small mandarin oranges and a WATERMELON. Wah liao wei.. The juniors were staring at lunch and the fruit so Jo-Lyne belakang-sing them. Paiseh them. Hahahaha! Szi Wei was muttering; “If they keep ooo and aaa the fruit, I’m not giving them any…”

During lunch, once again the food wasn’t enough for seniors but nevermind, we’re used to it. What annoyed me was hearing someone said; “I kesian seniors wei. They don’t get to eat a lot every meal”. How that person said it sounded so insincere and that fella always ask us if we have food. Oi stupid! If you kesian us then stop eating so much la! Don’t say things and don’t mean it! =.=

We started collecting firewood early as BBQ Night was that night and it was about to rain. Hui Ting and Yeong Ken who was taking their firelighting test were supposed to look for their own firewood. Us seniors stayed in camp to separate the firewood, get rid of unnecessary items so we have a lighter load to carry the next day and collect bamboos to make skewers. It was then when I heard something extremely stupid and funny.

SziWei: What the heck wei…
Maddie: Apa hal?
SziWei: Juniors were gone for 30 minutes and they came back without any firewood!

Erm? This is zadao number 3 and I’m sorry to say this, but its the most stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Come on man, the minute I step out of our campsite borders I already find at least ONE piece of firewood. How you expect to find your firewood wei? Do you think its simply lying on the pathway for you to take? Or better, it will fly/walk/run/jump towards you? Use common sense la! The sides got firewood one! What’s more, Szi Wei and Geoffrey planted firewood for you all and I believe you all only took that! WTHHHHHHHHHHH!
Wendy and I went to bath when the juniors were separating the firewood and making skewers. At least when we came back, there was enough firewood.. Thank God! Soon after that, it started raining so everyone took shelter again. This time the rain was quite heavy and once again, the junior’s tent got flooded. This time we gave them a spade ( very mini spade, only had one ) to build a drain.

However, they were clueless so we instructed them. Yeong Ken started to dig but it wasn’t deep enough plus he needs help so we told the juniors to use their spoons to dig. I dunno if they’re deaf or didn’t hear us, but they never did help him. So they end up using A spade to dig. Then Wai Guan, who was digging had leg cramped so someone yelled; “Wendy! Chao gan!”. After that, I couldn’t stand watching the juniors so I went and guide them to build the drain.

Then came 6.30pm, time to start fire. Both Yeong Ken and Hui Ting failed also as they did not save any dry leaves thus cannot ignite fire. Haizz.. Nevermind.. Then me and Wendy tried lighting for 20 minutes but didn’t work cuz even with flysheet to cover, the firewood is wet. We end up using lots of tissue and by 8 something did we get the fire going. While we tried saving the fire, a few went to skewer the chicken ( but later had to be re-skewered by Jo-Lyne cuz many weren’t done properly ).

I wanted to take a nice photo, but Geoffrey and his ass got in the way

Chicken in the wok, sausages in the mess tin

Trying to ignite the fire

Finally at 9 we can barbeque.. Yay! We had chicken, sausages, biscuits, roti lilit and potatoes to eat, but I doubt its enough as there weren’t a lot except for chicken and roti lilit which I dunno why some juniors taknak makan. Some went take shelter under the kitchen cuz it started drizzling. First time juniors not interested in BBQ-ing… Scared of rain izit? Cis.. Takpe, those not eating made themselves useful by chasing the dogs away.. Yes, there were dogs around. Funny thing is, they hunted our newspapers and plastics not food. Weird huh?

BBQ lasted till 11pm ( Wai Guan kuat makan roti lilit and chicken.. He’s our ‘dustbin’ of the day . xP ). Next was games presented by juniors. The problem with their game is, its not suitable as it goes against our code. For example; the hugging game. Guy not supposed to touch girl la.. Ahem! Takpe, they played a game presented to them by Szi Wei or Geoffrey. At least they had fun playing.

What's that between Yeong Ken and Kah Pohh? Wai Guan was suppoed to be standing there but.. What's that thing floating beside Yeong Ken's body? ......Creepy

At 11.50pm, we told them to double check their stuff are packed and what’s the agenda the next day so we can hurry back home. Jo-Lyne then lectured them over what they did wrong during the camp. Dunno whether they listened to her or take her seriously or not laa.. You’ll see why I said this...
Day 4 ( pictures with Wendy, will upload it soon )

Final day! Woohoo! ( and I can finally sleep soon! Been typing for 4 hours edi + distractions… lol! ) So we woke up at 6am, straight away wash up stuff from BBQ night and did our final test; personal items needed for camp. We did the layout system but I dunno why it took them 1 hour to do it. I know they’ve never done it before but that’s not an excuse! Whatever la. Breakfast was heavy; French toast with omelet mixed with luncheon meat. Oh, Szi Wei also chopped his watermelon so everyone ( except Jo-Lyne and Hui Ting who didn’t want it ) got to eat/drink something juicy.. Wendy makan until too full of water edi! xP

Tents, kitchen, groundsheet, flysheet were finally packed at 9 something. QM items that can be fitted into bags were done. Yaaaay~! Lucky it didn’t rain or else we couldn’t cross the river. Luck was on our side for now! We walked out of the jungle and reached the Orang Asli settlement at 10.30am. Poor Geoffrey who had to carry rubbish bags. Kinda sad we couldn’t find a place to dump it until we were out on the main road ( which was 1km out of the village ).

The most distressing part of our hike to the KTM station was the distance! Ugh! Someone told me it was only 6km away, but in reality it was TWELVE KILOMMETRES! WHAT THE HECK WEI! Damn regret not bringing shoes… We walked to Splash Info Centre to use the toilets and asked if there’s any taxi in the area ( so we can lighten our load and get people who were going to KO to the KTM first ). Too bad our area is kinda deserted… Anyway, we reached the town at about 2 something. Just in time, as it started to rain heavily then.

We took shelter in the chicken rice shop ( it was closed ) and had a lunch of milo, bread, baked beans and sardine there while waiting for the rain to subside. At 3pm, we set out again. As we walked, the rain got heavier once more and not long after, we got soaked like mad. We reached the station ( which was 2.5km away ) at 4pm. In the station, we quickly changed to dry clothes and catched the next train which comes at 4.17pm. Whoa! We made it in time as the next train was at 5.17! Yay us!

We had our post mortem in the KTM. People were like, staring at us. I mean, who wouldn’t la? We carried tongkat, flysheet, groundsheet, backpacks, first aid kit, a pail and even a kettle! People must think we’re from the kampong.. Zadao.. Geoffrey kept teasing me, saying; “Eh kampong person, why you come all this way to cuci your clothes a?” as I was holding the pail.. Damn wei, wanted to kick that fella.

In the LRT, Szi Wei, Geoffrey, Jo-Lyne and I were in the same train section so we were chit-chatting. All of the sudden, Szi Wei was talking about an incident where when they went for a survey, Alvin had to do a very big ‘business’ beside the main road and that fella didn’t wipe his ass! So he went on about how the LRT stank and it was unfortunate that he and Geoffrey were standing beside him… Then hor, the person beside us who was eating McD sundae somewhat choked on his ice-cream. Apparently he heard us.... OoOooOoPpppS!!!

We changed topic, so we talked about Geoffrey’s bad breath. That fella didn’t brush his teeth for 4 days so we were ‘complimenting’ it. The guy eating sundae choked again.. SWEAT! I pity the fella wei. Szi Wei made matters worse by embarrassing himself infront of the guy.

SziWei: Eeeei, Taman Jaya next right? My area wei! I want to stop here!
We all kept quiet. Then 3 minutes later…
SziWei: Eh, is this Asia Jaya already? Must get ready to stop edi!
Guy: Erm.. No, its Taman Jaya.
Us: Oi Szi Wei! You said this is your area, you don’t recognize aaa?!
The guy shakes his head and smiles.. Okaaaay…

We reached Asia Jaya at 6.05pm. We rushed off to Szi Wei’s father’s car to dump the QM items in it. Wendy, Wai Guan, Szi Wei and Geoffrey went back to school first while the others waited with me for my dad to arrive. Jo-Lyne and Choon Huang went back themselves. Cuz of the jam, my dad only arrived at 6.45pm. We arrived in school at 6.55 and then… Camp’s over!

By the way, us seniors have lots to say about this camp..

1) Juniors get distracted too easily. When we talk to them ( post mortem ) or when they are taking test, the slightest movement catches their attention and they’ll lose focus. For example, when I was talking the KTM door suddenly opened to let people in/out. Many juniors turned their heads and stared at the peoples movement instead of listening.

2) We give them more time and food to eat, but for what? They don’t do work properly. Washing QM utensils also not very clean, almost everytime got sand in our food or still have food or soap after washing. They no semangat also, can see that in marching.
3) Not helpful. When we ask for volunteers or ask them do work, like what Szi Wei said: First time ask, some people just stare at us ( at least stare at each other is better than stare back at us cuz its like, “senior, you crazy ar go ask us do work?) or some staring at other direction and also, got one scratch butt. Need ask more than 3 times to get someone to respond. What is this???

4) Need to be told to do things. Like when they took down the boys tent, they left the flysheet just like that and loitered around doing nonsense. Please people, we already told you the day before what to do. Raffia is ready for you, just go roll the stuff up and don’t wait until we tell you to do it! Fixing your tent also should be your problem, cuz its your TEST and we’re not supposed to help you! If you know its problematic, then fix it yourself or even if you dunno, ask us how to do it instead of waiting for us to find you and tell you.

5) Too reliant on senior. Almost same as needed to be instructed. Seniors are only there to help, not do your things for you! Someone kena leg cramp ( read day 3 report ), go help them la! Don’t scream “Senior! Cramp!” and what’s more, you’re not the one hurt! Have you ever thought of HELPING your friends first? And to collect firewood, must we find it for you all? You step over some seniors cuz they are friendly or are too kind summore.

6) The most important thing to have… COMMON SENSE. A lot of things happen cuz of this.

Situation A : Groundsheet is bigger than your roof, of course if rain the water will flow into your tent right?

Situation B : When you’re injured, CHECK YOUR INJURIES!! Don’t go yelling, senior I need first aid without checking! Lets say you’re not feeling and you go to the doctor, he ask you what’s wrong. You say dunno so instead he will ask you to go hospital for full body check up which cost about RM300+ or maybe he inject you with God knows what liquid and the funny thing is, you only have a common flu. So when you yell for first aid, how do we know what you need? Should we take out all our medicine to treat you?

Situation C: I asked someone to put their bag under the KTM seat as it was blocking the pathway. What answer do I get? “ Can’t fit. My bag’s too TALL.” Oi brother, have you ever heard of lying your bag flat so it can fit in?

Situation D: Ever considered asking a senior when you dunno how to do things? Lets say you don’t understand the test you’re taking, at least you can ask beforehand right? You ask us when you’re taking test, what the…

7) Not prepared. Hellooooooo? You’re going for a jungle camp, not picnic! Bring a torchlight for goodness sake! Didn’t bring sleeping bag cuz someone told you not to? Screw that someone la, he’s not the one going for camp, YOU are! Then all the tests, why didn’t prepare? Didn’t study? 2nd day you slept so early, can spend that time doing your reports or studying but no, you guys slept. Coming to this camp is to take your exams, not study for it.

8) Where’s your EQ mannn? Many times I hear questions like, “Oooo! Can I have a biscuit?” or even commands like, “ Senior! Leak! Water drip!”. So what? During my time, when anyone dared to speak like that we’d probably get banged kao kao from seniors. Ever considered talking nicely like, “Excuse me senior, but there’s a leak in our tent. Can you help us please?” Never once in this camp have I heard proper sentences like this. And when we do the things for you, especially those who treat your injuries or give you food, have you said thank you without us reminding you? Some of you learnt to use it around seniors, but to your own friends? What’s the point you learn and not use it daily?

9) To the 2 committee: I know you want to pack light but don’t forget stuff like spade, enough kerosene and sulphur, matches, rubbish bags, and many others~! Also, help your juniors in whatever way you can and I don’t mean help them find firewood. You can teach them, not do work for them. Instruct them on what they need to do instead of doing it yourself. Don’t get pushed around so easily as you’re not to pamper them.

Juniors! Improve yourselves kao kao! Please learn from your mistakes and do better. This is very essential when you’re out of school and need to work. If you all function like this, its very hard to live yourself edi. Be independent and do your best in everything you do. Don’t make empty promises with us and repeat things over and over cuz if you do, watch out…

Overall, the camp was good and it ran smoothly even with just 2 committee. Eventhough the outcome was quite disappointing, at least the test-takers tried, passed a few tests and joined this camp. Very happy as I’m sure everyone learned a thing or two from this camp ( unless there are a few stone heads out there ). Also, I wish to apologize to anyone whom I had offended during this camp. Very very sorry…
:D

So happy.
Maybe cuz my post is dammmmn long.. 5168 words wei, damn chun xP

Nites people!

Camp!

The internet hates me as I hate it back. It took several tries since yesterday 9pm till now to come online ( not counting my sleeping time from 12 - 5.30 ).

Maju Camp is today! Not very excited tho, cuz I expected to enjoy + relax during HOLIDAY. Come on la, people are already out partying and I'm going to be stuck in camp, getting my blood sucked by insects ( i know my blood is sweet, but i don't want to come back...er..liquidless? ), eating camp food, lack of proper facilities, etc.. < - No life

Yesterday was my last full meal, full sleep, full bath.. Going to miss the net, my bunny, proper lighting, my bed, my novel, music, and and... a SOCKET~! ( to charge my phone since it wears out fast when played music n games on it ). Hahahahaha.

I gotta go now. Supposed to meet juniors at 6.30 and it's now 6 minutes till then.

Ciaoz people~
- so bad, nobody said bye or wished me luck ( except Wai Yan ).. -

I really am pissed off enough to curse, with many non-appreciated thanks to my mum.

I was taking out food from plastic bags when she chided me for taking out my dad’s portion. She went on about ‘not following instructions’ in her mocking tone that got me really annoyed. What mum, are you taking over Pn Kokilam’s place now? I thought it’d be better to take it out for dad cuz keeping food in plastic is bad and it’d be less trouble for him when he gets back but noooo… ‘It’d get cold faster’. WTH? We do have microwave for a reason you know. And I can always put the food back into the plastic so what’s the big deal?

Then she scolded me for showing off my temper because the way I washed the plates is noisy. WHAT THE-?! I’ve been washing plates like that since young and now because you’re annoyed at me so you scold me for it? Excuse me, but its hurtful enough when you say I’m a poor in following instructions and now you accuse me of losing my temper?!! Who’s losing it now, you or me? WTH?!

Are you mad cuz of Maju Camp? Or is it stress? Either way, why do you always have to take it out on me by banging me first then accusing me of showing off my temper? Has it ever occurred that I’m trying to cool down from your banging when you say such accusations? What’s more, I can NEVER EVER defend myself cuz when I do, YOU END UP TRYING TO BE RIGHT and I’ve to shut the hell up to avoid more conflict.

If she’s mad of me carrying out my responsibilities as a senior, then I’ve one thing to say;

Do you want an irresponsible child as your daughter?

Hah! Maybe she’s learning from my dad. The phrase “I’ve never had a son like this” isn’t rare to me, so why would “I’ve never had a daughter like this” be anymore rare?

I’m bloody hurt that I’m crying.

Today I spent half my time reading Eragon ( covered 100 pages or so i think ). I woke up, did some stretches and off I went to read. Too bad I'm not as dedicated when I'm studying bio... ( which i did not study at all )

As promised, my parents and I went to the pasar malam in my area. There weren't as many stalls as before but I managed to find the shorts I wanted.. Yay~ I also met Alexandrea and an ex-scout senior whom I forgot his name -.-' Kinda surprising to see them there.

My thighs are sore since yesterday ( unfit unfit! ) from doing stomach, thigh and ass ( yes ass, cuz it supposedly comes with the thigh exercise ) tightening exercises. I realised how FAT my thighs and back arms are so I started exercising 2 days ago. Hope it works tho...

Butt pain, thigh pain, so cham cannot bend properly. LOL!

Apa hal you staring at me in disbelief for? Shaking head summore. So what if my female hormones have been activated? Besides, exercising is good for health!

Shopping

| 07 November 2009 | 0 comments |
Note : I didn't and don't want to add in photos of things I got today. Sorry, cuz I know many complain my posts are boring without photos.. Let what I get be a surprise k? Hehe.

I went shopping today! Guess what I bought? A semi dress, skirt, waist belt, hip belt and shoes. :D

My parents didn't want to leave me alone at home so I went out to Midvalley with them. Mum said Jusco got sales so we went there. Turned out takda and its the season of new arrivals.. Lol giler. Here we are, discount people, in a non-discount store. Hahahahaha.

The only teenage stores in there were VKI, Harajuku, Scraphina and some other mahal giler brand ( RM150++ for a pair of pants.. wth ). I obviously went to those 3 and shop from 2 something to 4.50. First hour was warm up for me, cuz its only the 2nd time me shop for girl clothes.. xP

Many clothes were nice but some doesn't suit my figure and aren't for daywear. Shoe size also another problem.. I think 36 is smallest but it's still a lil loose.. Baby feet =.= Not to mention I couldn't find nice white/black shorts, bag and half jackets. Takpe takpe, 2nd round during pasar malam tomorrow and if needed, 3rd round when going shopping with Mada.

Omigosh, I'm turning into a girl....

As if I wasn't one since born.. Pttf~ Maddie cakap nonsense.

After Jusco we went to the supermarket to get stuff. I bought choc chips and butter for my cookies ( gonna bake soon ) and tomyam maggi. We ate dinner at Teppanyaki and went back after that. Oh, I also went to MPH while waiting for parents to finish grocery shopping.

Total cost for clothes & shoe: RM207.70.
Total cost for books and personal items ( self-paid ): RM58.70

Great.. Banyak kaya ya.. Which reminds me, my mum said it's ok to work but not till 10pm cuz its too late. Yay!...Somewhat. She asked me why I wanna work, I said experience and money. Then she went on about money not a big deal, then told my dad, then my dad said when he gets his salary he will save up some for the notebook I want. Wth... I know I'm supposed to be happy, but I'm ( kinda ) not!

I want them to save up for my bro's expenses.. His last year studying liao, must make sure he gets nice memories out of it and not bad memoirs cuz not enough money to spend..

Touching right? - sendiri perasan

Oh, one more thing...

Hahaha CY kor! I finally got the complete set of the book you got for me so now I can rest in peace. Wakakakakaka!

Ok, bye for now x]
